Job description
An exceptional independent school in Gloucester is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join their team from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners at a key stage in their education. The successful candidate will become part of a supportive and forward-thinking teaching team that values creativity, collaboration, and high standards of teaching and learning. Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities · Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for Year 2 pupils. · Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning. · Assess and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear targets. · Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and school initiatives. · Foster strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to ensure the best outcomes for every child. · Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and wider school activities. · Contribute to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the school community. Year 2 Teacher Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject. · Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. · Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally with Year 2 pupils. · Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective assessment methods. · Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. · A nurturing, creative, and adaptable approach to teaching. · Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
