Receptionist – Outstanding Secondary School – Birmingham Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale School Information This Outstanding 11–18 secondary school in Birmingham is known for its strong leadership, excellent academic results, and highly professional operational systems. The school serves a diverse community and maintains high standards in behaviour, attendance, and student achievement. The reception area serves as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and students. Leadership prioritises professionalism and efficient communication across all departments. To strengthen front-of-house services, the school is seeking a welcoming and organised Receptionist. Role Overview The Receptionist will manage daily front-desk operations and provide administrative support. Key responsibilities include: Greeting visitors and managing sign-in procedures Answering telephone calls and directing enquiries Managing visitor safeguarding procedures Handling post and deliveries Supporting attendance recording Updating student records Assisting with general administrative tasks Maintaining reception area organisation Supporting emergency procedures when required Ensuring confidentiality at all times The role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a busy front desk. Administrative Team The Receptionist works closely with the School Administrator and Attendance Officer within a structured office team.
