Reception Teacher – Fantastic Opportunity in Barking We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Reception Teacher for a thriving 2-form entry school in Barking, starting in May 2025. This is a full-time position. Interviews will be held as soon as possible. Reception Teacher Role Start Date: May 2025 Location: Barking Working Hours: Full-Time Contract Type: Permanent The School This welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Barking is looking for an enthusiastic and nurturing Reception Teacher to join their Early Years team. The school is committed to providing a strong foundation for young learners, fostering a love for learning in a play-based, engaging environment. With a supportive leadership team and collaborative staff, the school promotes creativity, innovation, and professional development. Teachers benefit from excellent resources, CPD opportunities, and a strong sense of community. Reception Teacher Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Create a stimulating and nurturing environment that supports children's early development. Foster independence, curiosity, and a love for learning through play-based and structured activities. Assess and track children's progress, identifying next steps and providing individualized support. Work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to ensure every child thrives. Build strong relationships with parents, providing regular updates on children's progress and well-being. Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities. Reception Teacher Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Previous experience teaching in Early Years (Reception or Nursery). Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development. Passion for creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A team player with a positive and flexible approach. Commitment to continuous professional development and best early years teaching practices.
