Job description
DT Technician – Good Secondary School – Stoke-on-Trent Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale School Information This Good 11–18 secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent is recognised for its improving academic outcomes, practical curriculum focus, and supportive leadership. The Design Technology Department plays a central role in delivering hands-on, skills-based learning. The department includes well-equipped workshops, specialist tools, CAD equipment, and resistant materials facilities. Students are enthusiastic about practical subjects and regularly produce high-quality project work. To support the DT Department, the school is seeking a proactive and skilled DT Technician. Role Overview The DT Technician will support practical workshops and ensure safe operation of equipment. Key responsibilities include: Preparing materials for lessons Maintaining tools and machinery Supporting students during practical sessions Managing workshop safety procedures Ordering and organising materials Conducting equipment safety checks Supporting GCSE coursework preparation Maintaining stock levels Assisting with displays and projects Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards The role requires practical competence and awareness of workshop safety. DT Department The technician works closely with the Head of DT and teaching staff. The department delivers practical learning across KS3–KS5. Candidate Requirements Experience working in workshops or technical environments Knowledge of machinery safety Strong organisational skills Ability to work collaboratively Attention to detail Understanding of health and safety Commitment to safeguarding Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
