Job description
Finance Assistant required January 2026 Mixed secondary school based in Oldham Finance Assistant to join a structured and highly organised finance department Our Client is seeking a Finance Assistant to support daily finance operations within a large secondary school in Oldham. Duties include processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, handling supplier queries, posting financial transactions and supporting the wider finance team with reporting and reconciliation tasks. School Information This 11–18 school educates approximately 1,280 pupils and operates within a highly structured financial and administrative framework. The school is known for its strong governance, well-managed resources and highly organised support systems that ensure smooth day-to-day operations across all departments. Support staff describe the school as methodical, respectful and professionally run. The finance department is well led, with clear procedures and strong internal communication. Staff are supported through training, system updates and long-term progression opportunities within school finance.
