Job description
Head of Religious Studies – Comprehensive School in Bournemouth A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Head of Religious Studies to lead a department committed to developing empathy, ethical thinking, and cultural awareness through Religious Studies among students of all backgrounds. About the School As a proud community comprehensive, the school promotes inclusion, respect, and academic ambition for all learners. Religious Studies is valued as a vital part of the curriculum, helping students understand the world around them and their place within it. The Role As Head of Religious Studies, you will: • Shape and lead a broad and inclusive Religious Studies curriculum across KS3 and KS4 (with the option of KS5). • Plan and deliver engaging, thought-provoking Religious Studies lessons that challenge and inspire. • Promote interfaith understanding and critical thinking through Religious Studies. • Support whole-school values and community ethos through assemblies and PSHE contributions in Religious Studies. • Guide and mentor a small, committed team of Religious Studies teachers.
