Job description
We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Caretaker to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Dorchester . This is a full-time, permanent position starting in January 2026 , ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. • Caretaker • Friendly and Inclusive Primary School in Dorchester, Dorset • Full-time, permanent position • Caretaker role starting January 2026 School Information This Dorchester primary school is highly regarded for its strong community ethos, excellent pastoral care, and nurturing environment . The leadership team values teamwork and takes great pride in ensuring the site is a safe, attractive, and inspiring place to learn and work. Role Information You will be responsible for opening and securing the site, carrying out minor repairs, maintaining equipment, liaising with contractors, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will work closely with the Premises Manager to uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety, and security. Experience and Qualifications • Previous caretaking or maintenance experience desirable • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and DIY repairs • Good understanding of health and safety procedures • Reliable, practical, and able to manage tasks independently Salary Paid according to experience and local support staff pay scale Application This Caretaker position offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a warm and community-driven Dorchester primary school where staff are valued and teamwork is central.
