Job description
A well-established secondary school in Crawley is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking Caretaker to join their facilities team. This is a full-time, permanent role starting ASAP, providing essential support to ensure the school site is safe, secure, and well-maintained. About the Role As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of the school buildings and grounds. You will work closely with the Site Manager and wider facilities team to ensure the environment is safe, welcoming, and operational for staff, students, and visitors. The role requires a hands-on approach, with tasks including minor maintenance, cleaning, and assisting with the setup of school events. Attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive attitude are essential. Key Responsibilities • Daily inspections of buildings and grounds to ensure safety and cleanliness • Performing minor maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs • Assisting with health and safety compliance and reporting any issues promptly • Supporting room setups for lessons, meetings, and school events • Coordinating deliveries and waste management • Assisting the Site Manager with larger projects and site improvements About the School This Crawley secondary school is recognised for strong academic outcomes, positive behaviour standards, and a supportive working environment.
