Year 1 Teacher Role Full-Time Permanent January 2026 Start The School This is a vibrant and well-respected primary school in Bexley , known for its strong sense of community and commitment to Gospel values. The school provides a warm and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to develop academically, spiritually, and emotionally. With a dedicated team of staff, the school fosters curiosity, creativity, and kindness, helping pupils to grow in confidence and faith. Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons for Year 1 pupils, following the National Curriculum and reflecting the school’s Catholic ethos. Differentiate teaching to support the diverse learning needs of all pupils, ensuring that each child makes excellent progress. Create a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes early learning and development. Use effective assessment methods to monitor pupil progress and inform future teaching. Collaborate with colleagues and the leadership team to deliver high-quality learning experiences. Communicate positively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress, wellbeing, and spiritual development. Participate actively in the wider life of the school, including assemblies, liturgical celebrations, and community events. Year 1 Teacher Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 , ideally in Year 1. Strong understanding of early years and Key Stage 1 curriculum and assessment . Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills . Passionate about creating engaging, child-centred learning experiences. A team player with a reflective and collaborative approach to teaching.
