Job description
A thriving and forward-thinking secondary school in Poole is seeking a creative and passionate Photography Teacher to join its Art & Design department from April 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to teach motivated pupils in a school that values creativity, innovation, and high-quality artistic outcomes. Photography is a growing and well-supported subject within the department, with strong uptake at KS4 and opportunities at KS5 depending on experience. The school encourages creative exploration while maintaining strong academic rigour in coursework and examination preparation. The Role Teaching Photography across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on experience Planning and delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons Supporting pupils with portfolio development, coursework, and exam preparation Teaching digital editing software, camera techniques, composition, and visual analysis Encouraging independent creative thinking and technical skill development Contributing to exhibitions, displays, and enrichment activities Working collaboratively within a supportive Art & Design team The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Photography, Art & Design, or a related creative discipline Experience teaching Photography at secondary level Strong technical knowledge of photography equipment and editing software High expectations for pupil engagement, creativity, and achievement A professional, organised, and innovative teaching approach School Information This secondary school in Poole is recognised for its strong academic standards, supportive leadership, and positive pupil behaviour.
