Job description
A well-established and supportive 11–18 secondary school in Tamworth is seeking an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher of English to join its welcoming English department from January 2026 . The Opportunity This role offers an excellent start to your teaching career in a school that takes ECT development seriously. You’ll teach English across KS3 and KS4 , working within a department that has clear schemes of learning, shared resources and a strong focus on building students’ confidence in reading, writing and speaking. The English curriculum is thoughtfully sequenced and designed to reduce workload, allowing ECTs to focus on refining their classroom practice and subject delivery. You’ll be encouraged to develop your own teaching style while being supported by experienced colleagues. ECT Support You will benefit from: A reduced teaching timetable in line with ECT entitlement A dedicated English subject mentor with protected weekly meeting time Regular coaching and observation focused on development, not judgement Access to structured CPD and early career training sessions The School Rated Good , the school is known for its calm learning environment, strong behaviour systems and visible leadership.
