Job description
A successful and high-achieving secondary school in Reading is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Art Teacher to join their vibrant department from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for a passionate teacher who can inspire students to explore their artistic abilities and develop technical skills, while contributing to the wider creative culture of the school. Key Details • Full-time, permanent Art Teacher role starting January 2026 • Ambitious secondary school in Reading with strong results in the Arts • Teach Art across KS3–KS5, with opportunities to contribute to exhibitions and showcases • Supportive and collaborative faculty with excellent resources Experience and Qualifications • Qualified Art Teacher with QTS (PGCE or equivalent) • Strong subject knowledge with experience teaching across secondary key stages • Passion for inspiring creativity, critical thinking, and independent artistic expression • Ability to organise exhibitions, trips, and enrichment opportunities • Effective classroom management with high standards of behaviour and achievement • Commitment to collaborative working and continuous professional development • Legal right to work in the UK School Information • Ofsted-rated ‘Good’, with strong provision in creative and performing arts • Modern facilities including studios, digital design suites, and gallery space • Emphasis on both academic achievement and creative enrichment • Strong CPD support and opportunities for leadership development • A culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity across the school community Salary • Paid to scale on MPS/UPS Application • To be considered for this Art Teacher role, please forward an updated CV as soon as possible.
