Job description
Looking for a caretaker role within a well-regarded independent school in a London Borough? A respected independent school is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands-on Caretaker to join its site and estates team. Job Overview This full-time Caretaker role is available ASAP or April 2026 . The school is renowned for: Well-maintained facilities and grounds A strong sense of community High standards of health and safety The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, security, and upkeep of the school site, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. The School The site team plays a vital role in the smooth running of the school. The caretaker works closely with senior leaders and external contractors to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and support the wider school community. Key responsibilities include: Opening and closing the site Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs Monitoring health and safety and site security Supporting events and lettings as required Staff describe the school as friendly, respectful, and well-organised, with clear expectations and strong leadership support.
