Job descriptionWe are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Ruislip, starting ASAP. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified teacher to lead learning for Key Stage 1 pupils and make a real difference to their progress and wellbeing. As a Year 2 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing the curriculum across Key Stage 1. You will create a stimulating classroom environment, promote positive behaviour, and support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 2 curriculum Monitor and track pupil progress, providing targeted support where needed Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development Maintain a safe, well-organised, and engaging classroom environment Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and school leadership Contribute to school events, trips, and enrichment activities Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and resources Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) Have experience teaching Key Stage 1, preferably Year 2 Be passionate, creative, and committed to high-quality teaching Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills Be able to differentiate learning for pupils of varying abilities Have strong communication and teamwork skills Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing The school is located in Ruislip, with excellent transport links and a supportive, diverse community.
