The school is seeking an ambitious English Teacher for a permanent, full-time role at a highly academic Independent School in Hampshire, commencing in January 2026. Responsibilities Design and deliver highly challenging lessons in English Language and Literature across all key stages, with a significant focus on A-Level. Develop students’ critical analyse skills, advanced literary comprehension, and sophisticated essay writing ability. Evaluate and track student progress meticulously, providing bespoke, actionable written and verbal feedback. Co-ordinate and contribute to the vibrant co-curricular life of the English department, such as debating, creative writing, or literary societies. Utilise the school’s extensive library and academic resources effectively. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant degree specialism in English Literature or Language. Proven experience teaching English to a high level, ideally with knowledge of pre-U or comparable independent school curricula.
