Job description
A vibrant Mixed School in Westminster seeks an enthusiastic and dynamic Geography Teacher to join our collaborative Humanities department. We are looking for an educator who can inspire students to explore the complexities of our world and develop a strong understanding of geographical processes and issues. About Our Learning Community: Our school provides a welcoming and inclusive environment with well-equipped geography classrooms and a commitment to fieldwork and the use of geographical technologies. About the Role: Deliver engaging and interactive Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering physical, human, and environmental geography. Develop and implement stimulating lesson plans that incorporate fieldwork, map skills, GIS, data analysis, and discussions of contemporary geographical challenges. Assess student progress through fieldwork reports, presentations, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to enhance their geographical understanding. Organize and lead fieldwork opportunities to diverse locations. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Geography. A strong understanding of the secondary geography curriculum and effective teaching methodologies, including fieldwork. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students in geographical inquiry. Proficiency in using geographical software and resources.
