Job description
A well-regarded independent school in Slough is seeking a reliable and organised Science Technician to join its Science department as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to support practical teaching within a calm, academically focused environment where high standards and attention to detail are valued. The Science department delivers a broad and ambitious curriculum across KS3, KS4, and KS5, and the Science Technician will play a vital role in ensuring practical lessons run smoothly and safely. Key Responsibilities Preparing equipment and materials for practical Science lessons Supporting Biology, Chemistry, and Physics experiments Maintaining laboratory equipment and stock levels Ensuring compliance with health & safety and COSHH regulations Managing chemical storage and disposal procedures Assisting teachers during practical sessions where required Maintaining accurate records and supporting departmental organisation The Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous experience in a Science Technician or laboratory role (school experience desirable) Strong understanding of laboratory safety procedures Good organisational skills and attention to detail The ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment A proactive, reliable, and professional approach Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively This independent school in Slough is known for its strong academic standards, excellent facilities, and supportive leadership.
