Job description
A friendly primary school in Havering is seeking a committed Year 4 Teacher to join the Key Stage 2 team from January 2026. The Year 4 Teacher will plan coherent sequences of learning that develop pupils’ fluency in calculation, reading comprehension and written expression. The successful Year 4 Teacher will work with the phase leader to moderate standards, coordinate small-group interventions and support extra-curricular enrichment across the school and the local Havering community. Induction and planning sessions will be provided ahead of January 2026 so the Year 4 Teacher can begin the spring term effectively. • Year 4 Teacher required for a full-time position • Year 4 Teacher required to work within a collaborative KS2 team in Havering • Year 4 Teacher to deliver sequenced lessons and lead targeted support This Year 4 Teacher role offers a supportive environment, strong CPD and access to specialist subject leaders. The Year 4 Teacher will have PPA time, collaboration with experienced colleagues and opportunities to contribute to whole-school improvement. Responsibilities Plan and teach sequenced Year 4 lessons that develop both procedural fluency and conceptual understanding. Use assessment to set clear targets and to run focused group work that accelerates progress. Work with TAs to scaffold learning and to meet the needs of diverse pupils. Take part in moderation and curriculum development across the school and Havering networks. Maintain constructive communication with parents and contribute to reporting cycles. Person specification Qualified teacher with recent KS2 experience and strong Year 4 practice. Sound curriculum knowledge, excellent classroom routines and the ability to plan for progress. A collaborative team member who will contribute positively to the Havering school community. Able to start January 2026 and to attend preparatory induction sessions before January 2026.
