Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of Psychology to join a well-established and high-achieving school in Essex ASAP. This is a fantastic chance to be part of a thriving Psychology department within a school that is committed to academic excellence, student engagement, and staff development. The successful Teacher of Psychology will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Psychology lessons across KS4 and KS5, inspiring students to develop a passion for the subject. The Psychology department is well-resourced and led by an experienced Head of Department who is dedicated to fostering a supportive and dynamic learning environment. This role is ideal for either an experienced Teacher of Psychology looking for career progression or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking a nurturing school in which to develop their skills. Key Responsibilities Teach Psychology at KS4 and KS5, delivering engaging and effective lessons Plan and implement a Psychology curriculum that supports student progress and achievement Assess and monitor student learning in Psychology, providing feedback to support development Collaborate with colleagues in the Psychology department to share best practices and improve outcomes Support students with their Psychology coursework and exam preparation Participate in school activities, including open evenings, parents' evenings, and extracurricular Psychology clubs School Information A high-performing school in Essex with a strong academic reputation Well-resourced Psychology department with modern teaching materials Supportive leadership team that prioritises teacher development and well-being Outstanding student behaviour and a strong ethos of mutual respect Easily accessible location with excellent transport links Requirements A formal teaching qualification with QTS (PGCE or equivalent) Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach Psychology at KS4 and KS5 A passion for Psychology education and a commitment to student success Effective classroom management skills with the ability to motivate and engage students The legal right to work in the UK This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teacher of Psychology to join a highly regarded Psychology department in a leading school in Essex.
