Sociology Teacher – Mixed Secondary School in Croydon (January Start) Location: Croydon Start Date: January 2026 Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale A high-performing mixed 11–18 secondary school in Croydon is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Sociology Teacher to join their Social Sciences Faculty from January. About the School With a strong reputation for academic rigour and exceptional pastoral support, the school is committed to nurturing curiosity, confidence, and independent thinking. Staff benefit from excellent CPD, supportive leadership, and a collaborative working environment. About the Social Sciences Department The department offers Sociology at GCSE and A Level and has consistently achieved strong results. Teachers work closely together to plan engaging schemes of work and deliver lessons that encourage debate, critical analysis, and an understanding of contemporary society. The Role • Teach Sociology across KS4–KS5. • Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities. • Support the department during exam periods and assessment cycles. • Foster a positive learning environment that motivates and inspires students. Requirements • QTS and a degree in Sociology or a related field. • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for social sciences. • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
