A bit about us Technical Absorbents Ltd (TAL) is a leading manufacturer in specialised nonwoven fabrics using our SAFTM technology. Our teams work closely together across technical, commercial, and production to deliver high‑performance nonwoven solutions to customers around the globe. As a placement student at TAL, you will be treated as a valued member of the team, with real responsibility and the opportunity to contribute to customer projects that make a genuine impact. You will gain exposure to an industrial manufacturing environment, supported by experienced professionals who are committed to helping you develop both technically and personally. TAL is passionate about early career investment, providing students with opportunities for real responsibility and supporting their growth throughout the placement. What you will do ·Develop and expand in house test methods for fabric capabilities ·Liase with commercial, marketing, production and technical teams throughout customer projects following a stage-gate development process ·Benchmark internal and competitor fabrics to support new and existing products ·Provide technical input for customer enquiries and selection of fabrics ·Identify sustainability opportunities for fabric and fibre development ·Present trial work and research to internal stakeholders and external clients. Who are we looking for ·Working towards a degree within a STEM related discipline ·Analytical and creative mindset, comfortable with working with data management ·Keen interest in learning about industrial textiles and the manufacturing process ·Confident in communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audience ·Works well in a team and can collaborate with others but can also work independently. What’s in it for you ·Salary: TBC ·Location: This role is based in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire ·Duration: 12-month placement flexible to start date to begin within 2026 ·25 days holiday plus bank holidays ·Access to benefits such as, Monthly Football tickets (for GTFC), training packages, flexible working hours, pension scheme and much more.
