Job description
Geography ECT required January 2026 Mixed secondary school based in Biggleswade Geography ECT to join a forward-thinking and collaborative Humanities faculty Our Client is seeking a Geography ECT to teach KS3 and KS4 within a large and well-organised secondary school in Biggleswade. The successful candidate will receive structured mentoring while delivering physical and human geography topics through a carefully sequenced curriculum. This role offers excellent opportunity to develop skills in assessment, curriculum planning and classroom management within a supportive teaching environment. School Information This 11–18 school educates approximately 1,250 pupils and maintains a strong reputation for academic consistency, high attendance levels and clear behaviour expectations. The Geography department benefits from specialist teaching rooms, digital mapping software, fieldwork programmes and shared resources that promote enquiry-based learning. Students show enthusiasm for geographical learning and respond well to high-quality teaching. ECTs at the school follow a structured induction pathway with reduced timetable, weekly mentoring sessions, regular department planning time and targeted CPD throughout the academic year. Staff describe the culture as calm, purposeful and highly supportive for new teachers. Senior leadership takes an active role in monitoring workload and pastoral wellbeing.
