Job description
Our client, a well-established independent 11–18 day school in Kidderminster, is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join their Estates team ASAP . This is a full-time, permanent role providing the opportunity to maintain and enhance the school’s excellent facilities within a professional and supportive environment. • Caretaker required – full-time, permanent • Prestigious Independent School in Kidderminster • ASAP start • Competitive salary and staff benefits About the Role The Caretaker will be responsible for the smooth running and upkeep of the school’s buildings, grounds, and facilities. You will ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. This role also involves monitoring site security, performing routine maintenance, and supporting school events and functions. Key responsibilities include: • Opening and closing the school site, including security checks • Performing minor maintenance and repairs • Reporting and coordinating larger repairs with contractors • Supporting school events and extracurricular activities • Ensuring compliance with health & safety and site procedures The Ideal Candidate • Previous experience in facilities management, caretaking, or maintenance • Practical skills in plumbing, electrical, or general maintenance advantageous • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail • Able to work independently and as part of a team • Friendly, approachable and proactive About the School This independent school in Kidderminster values a safe, well-cared-for learning environment and prides itself on providing high-quality facilities.
