Pastoral Support Officer – Outstanding Secondary School – Bromley (London Borough) Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale School Information This Outstanding 11–18 secondary school in the London Borough of Bromley is known for its excellent behaviour standards, structured pastoral systems, and strong academic outcomes. The school serves a diverse community and prioritises student wellbeing alongside academic success. Pastoral systems are clearly defined, with strong intervention strategies and well-trained staff. The school maintains excellent attendance and low exclusion rates due to early intervention and positive behaviour support. The school is seeking a dedicated and proactive Pastoral Support Officer. Role Overview The Pastoral Support Officer will support students’ emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and attendance. Key responsibilities include: Supporting students with behavioural or emotional needs Working closely with Heads of Year Monitoring behaviour and intervention plans Supporting reintegration meetings Liaising with parents Recording pastoral concerns accurately Supporting attendance improvement strategies Assisting with safeguarding referrals Coordinating mentoring support Supporting restorative practices This role requires patience, resilience, and strong relationship-building skills. Candidate Requirements Experience in pastoral or student support roles Strong communication skills Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly Understanding of safeguarding Organised and reliable Positive and supportive approach Commitment to student wellbeing Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
