Job description
The Headteacher of this well-established secondary school in Romford is seeking to appoint a skilled and reliable Design Technology Technician to support the effective delivery of DT lessons from January . This is a key support role within the school, working closely with teaching staff to ensure workshops are safe, well organised, and fully prepared for practical learning. This role would suit an experienced DT Technician or someone with a strong background in practical trades, workshop environments, or technical support who is looking to work in a structured and supportive school setting. The school values its support staff highly and provides clear expectations and a positive working culture. You will be responsible for preparing materials and equipment for lessons, maintaining tools and machinery, supporting health and safety procedures, and ensuring workshop spaces are kept clean, organised, and compliant. What the school is looking for: Romford January Start Design Technology Technician Full-Time | Permanent Experience working in a workshop or technical environment Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures Ability to maintain tools, machinery, and equipment Experience preparing materials for practical lessons A proactive, reliable, and organised approach Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team The successful DT Technician will play a vital role in supporting both staff and students, ensuring lessons run smoothly and safely while maintaining high standards across the DT department.
