Job description
Our Client is looking for a Design Technology ECT to work within a friendly and supportive mixed secondary school based in Northumberland. This is a full-time position starting from January 2026. Design Technology ECT required to work on a full-time basis Supportive mixed school in Northumberland Excellent Design Technology ECT to join a well-resourced and encouraging department Our Client is looking for a Design Technology ECT to teach across KS3 & KS4 within a collaborative department that promotes creativity, hands-on learning and innovation in design. Experience and Qualifications Design Technology ECT Be enthusiastic, adaptable, and open to development Have sound subject knowledge in Product Design or Resistant Materials A formal teaching qualification with QTS (i.e. PGCE) Legal ability to work within the UK School Information This inclusive 11–18 secondary school has around 1,100 students on roll and a strong reputation for pastoral care and teacher support. In 2024, 90% of students achieved grades 9–4 in English and Maths, and the DT department achieved an 86% GCSE pass rate. The school is well equipped with modern workshops, 3D printers and CAD software. New teachers benefit from a structured ECT programme with weekly mentoring, team planning, and classroom support.
