Job description
SENCo Opportunity – Secondary School – Enfield Role: SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) Nature: Maternity Cover, Full-Time Start: April 2025 Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance A high-achieving secondary school in Enfield is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to cover a maternity leave starting in April 2024 . This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate SEN professional to lead and coordinate special educational needs (SEN) provision , ensuring that all students receive the tailored support they need to succeed. Role Highlights: Lead the school’s SEN provision , ensuring high-quality support for students with additional needs Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to develop effective interventions and strategies Manage EHCP processes and ensure compliance with SEN legislation Provide guidance and training to staff to support inclusive teaching practices Oversee SEN assessments, monitor student progress , and adapt interventions as necessary Collaborate with parents, carers, and multi-agency professionals to ensure holistic support for students Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and commitment to student success Experience & Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential NASENCO qualification (or working towards it) preferred Experience working as a SENCO or in a senior SEN role within a secondary setting Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP procedures Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external professionals Enhanced DBS check required Why Join Us?
