Job description
A well-regarded independent school in Watford is seeking an enthusiastic and committed French Teacher to join its Modern Foreign Languages department from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to teach motivated pupils in a calm, academically focused environment where languages are highly valued. French is a strong and well-established subject within the school, with good uptake at GCSE and A Level and a clear emphasis on confident communication and cultural understanding. The Role Teaching French across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on experience Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured language lessons Supporting pupils in developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills Preparing pupils for GCSE and A Level examinations Contributing to language enrichment activities and cultural events Working collaboratively within a supportive and well-resourced MFL department The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification A degree in French or a closely related subject Experience teaching French at secondary level Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom practice High expectations for pupil engagement and academic progress A professional, organised, and positive teaching approach School Information This independent school in Watford is known for its strong academic standards, excellent pastoral care, and supportive leadership.
