Your Role as a Food Technology Teacher: 🔹 Deliver Engaging Food Tech Lessons – Plan and deliver creative and hands-on food technology lessons, ensuring they are accessible and enjoyable for students with a range of special educational needs. 🔹 Adapt Lessons for SEN Students – Use differentiated teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other SEN, providing them with the tools they need to succeed. 🔹 Promote Life Skills Development – Help students develop essential life skills, such as cooking, food safety, budgeting, and nutrition, to support their independence and well-being. 🔹 Foster a Positive & Inclusive Learning Environment – Create a safe and supportive atmosphere where students feel confident to try new things and make mistakes in a constructive way. 🔹 Collaborate with Support Staff – Work closely with teaching assistants and other professionals to implement individual learning plans (IEPs) and provide tailored support to meet each student’s needs. 🔹 Monitor Progress & Provide Feedback – Track student progress, providing constructive feedback to students, parents, and staff, and helping them achieve their full potential in food technology. Who We’re Looking For: ✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching food technology at secondary level, preferably in an SEN setting. ✅ Experience with SEN – A strong understanding of how to adapt food technology lessons and teaching strategies for students with special educational needs. ✅ Passionate About Food Technology – A genuine enthusiasm for food technology and the ability to inspire students to engage with the subject in a practical and fun way. ✅ Creative & Flexible – A creative and adaptable teaching style that meets the diverse needs of your students and promotes hands-on learning. ✅ Empathetic & Patient – A caring and patient teaching style, with a strong focus on supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development. ✅ Strong Communication Skills – The ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure student progress. ✅ An Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one).
