An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and ambitious Early Career Teacher of Science to join a high-performing 11–18 school in Bristol from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a structured and supportive induction within a collaborative Science Department that has an excellent track record of nurturing early-career teachers. About the Role The successful candidate will teach General Science across KS3 and KS4 , with the opportunity to develop a specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics at KS5 as their career progresses. They will deliver engaging, practical lessons that foster curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking, helping students understand the relevance of science in everyday life. The department places a strong emphasis on hands-on learning, enquiry, and building scientific literacy. ECTs receive regular mentoring, team teaching opportunities, and observation feedback as part of the school’s two-year induction programme , ensuring they develop confidence in lesson planning, behaviour management, and assessment. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver creative, evidence-based lessons across KS3–KS4. Promote curiosity through practical experiments and demonstrations. Mark and assess student work in line with school policies. Use data to inform teaching and support student progress. Participate in enrichment such as STEM clubs, Science Week, or inter-school competitions . Collaborate closely with colleagues to share resources and reflect on best practice.
