Job description
The school is recruiting a Religious Education Teacher for a full-time, temporary contract at an Outstanding secondary school in Greater Manchester, commencing in January 2026. The position involves teaching RE and Ethics across all key stages up to GCSE level. The school is committed to fostering respectful discourse and rigorous intellectual enquiry on diverse moral and spiritual issues. Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging, balanced lessons in Religious Education and Ethics across all key stages. Co-ordinate classroom discussion and debate to encourage high-level intellectual analyse and understanding. Track student progress meticulously, implementing timely support where necessary to secure strong GCSE outcomes. Contribute actively to the wider Humanities faculty and school ethos. Uphold the school’s high expectations for academic delivery and student behaviour. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant degree specialism in RE, Theology, or Philosophy. Proven experience teaching Religious Education to GCSE level. Excellent communication skills, essential for facilitating high-level classroom discussion. Strong classroom management and organisational skills. A commitment to continuous professional development.
