Job description
A leading independent day and boarding school in Oxford is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and inspiring Science Teacher to join its well-established Science Faculty from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent position, ideal for a teacher passionate about delivering exceptional Science education within a high-achieving and supportive environment. About the Role The successful candidate will teach General Science across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach a specialism at KS5 depending on experience and background (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics). You will join a dynamic department that values inquiry-based learning, practical experimentation, and critical thinking. This position offers the opportunity to work with bright, motivated students who are eager to learn and succeed. You will play a vital role in inspiring curiosity about the natural world, fostering academic rigour, and helping students develop the scientific reasoning and resilience needed to excel in both examinations and future study. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3–KS5. Differentiate instruction to support pupils of varying abilities, ensuring progress for all learners. Contribute to the development of an innovative and forward-looking Science curriculum. Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations , ensuring consistently strong results. Promote practical science through laboratory experiments, demonstrations, and projects. Play an active role in co-curricular science activities such as STEM clubs, Olympiads, and academic competitions. Contribute to the wider life of the school through participation in enrichment events, trips, and pastoral duties.
