About the Role As a Year 1 Class Teacher , you will take full responsibility for a Year 1 class, delivering engaging, well-structured lessons that support pupils as they move from the EYFS framework into the Key Stage 1 curriculum. This is a crucial stage in children’s educational development, where strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and learning behaviours are established. You will be expected to plan and deliver lessons that are creative, inclusive, and appropriately differentiated to meet the needs of all learners. A strong emphasis is placed on phonics, early reading, writing development, and number fluency, alongside continued development of social skills, independence, and emotional regulation. This role would suit a reflective and enthusiastic teacher who understands the importance of a smooth transition from Reception into Year 1 and is confident in adapting teaching approaches to suit the developmental needs of young learners. You will work closely with teaching assistants, the KS1 team, EYFS colleagues, and senior leaders to ensure consistency and continuity in provision. Both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
