Job description
Our client is looking for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Physical Education to join an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in Reading. This is a full-time position starting in January 2026, with exceptional mentoring and CPD available to support your first teaching post. • ECT PE Teacher required to work on a full-time basis • Outstanding secondary school in Reading • Join a dynamic and successful PE department with excellent facilities and leadership This is a superb opportunity for an energetic and motivated teacher to begin their career in a high-achieving school with an excellent sporting tradition. The successful candidate will teach PE across KS3 and KS4, and contribute to extracurricular activities and enrichment events. You will receive structured mentoring, professional development, and clear progression opportunities. Experience and Qualifications • ECT PE Teacher (PGCE or equivalent completed) • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Physical Education • Excellent communication and classroom management skills • Legal ability to work within the UK School Information This Outstanding 11–18 mixed secondary school in Reading is widely recognised for both academic success and excellence in sport. In 2023, over 80% of GCSE PE students achieved grades 9–7 , and the school has achieved regional titles in athletics, football, and netball. The PE department benefits from modern sports halls, fitness suites, outdoor pitches, and access to regional training centres .
