Your Role as SENCO: 🔹 Lead and manage the school’s SEN provision , ensuring that students with Special Educational Needs receive the appropriate support and interventions. 🔹 Work closely with the SLT (Senior Leadership Team) to develop and implement the school’s SEN strategy , ensuring it aligns with the school’s overall ethos and vision. 🔹 Oversee the development, implementation, and review of Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) for students. 🔹 Support teachers and staff in creating individualised learning plans for students with SEN, ensuring differentiated teaching approaches are used. 🔹 Lead on the assessment and monitoring of student progress, using data to inform decision-making and interventions. 🔹 Provide training and support to staff, ensuring they are equipped to meet the needs of students with SEN. 🔹 Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure students receive the best possible support. 🔹 Ensure the school’s SEN policies are effectively implemented and reviewed regularly. Who We’re Looking For: ✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and National SENCO Award (or working towards it). ✅ Previous experience as a SENCO or in a similar leadership role within an educational setting. ✅ A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice , EHCPs , and effective SEN provision strategies. ✅ Excellent communication, leadership , and collaborative skills. ✅ A proactive, compassionate, and adaptable approach to SEN leadership. ✅ Strong organisational and data analysis skills to track student progress and interventions. ✅ An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
