Job description
A well-established and high-performing secondary school in Leeds is seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to join the school as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to take full responsibility for the safe, secure, and efficient management of a busy school site within a structured and supportive environment. The school prides itself on maintaining high standards across its facilities and ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-presented learning environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. The Site Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring operational excellence across the estate. Key Responsibilities Overseeing the day-to-day management, maintenance, and security of the school site Carrying out routine health & safety checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and legionella monitoring Ensuring full statutory compliance and maintaining accurate compliance records Managing contractors and supervising site-related improvement projects Coordinating planned preventative maintenance and reactive works Managing site-related budgets and procurement of services Supporting school lettings, events, and occasional out-of-hours requirements Line managing site and cleaning staff The Ideal Candidate Will Have Proven experience as a Site Manager, Premises Manager, or Facilities Manager Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and statutory compliance Experience managing contractors and overseeing site projects Practical maintenance skills and the ability to troubleshoot site issues Strong organisational and leadership skills A proactive, professional, and solutions-focused approach This secondary school in Leeds offers a supportive leadership team, clear operational structures, and a positive working culture where site staff are valued members of the wider school community.
