Religious Education Teacher (ECT) – Outstanding Girls’ Secondary School, Lambeth School Information This Outstanding Ofsted-rated girls’ secondary school in Lambeth is recognised for its inclusive values, strong academic outcomes, and exceptional pastoral care. The school places great importance on developing thoughtful, respectful, and socially aware young people. Religious Education is a valued subject within the school, supporting students to explore belief systems, ethical issues, and philosophical questions in a respectful and academically rigorous way. The department is collaborative, well-led, and committed to supporting new teachers. Role Information The school is looking to appoint a passionate Religious Education Teacher (ECT) to join the department as soon as possible. You will teach RE across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to gain experience at KS5 as your confidence develops. You will deliver lessons that encourage critical thinking, respectful discussion, and engagement with contemporary moral and ethical issues. The role also involves contributing to curriculum planning, assessment development, and enrichment activities such as debate clubs and themed learning days. As an ECT, you will be fully supported through a structured induction programme, regular mentoring meetings, and access to high-quality professional development. Requirements • QTS (or pending QTS) • A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject • Strong communication and classroom management skills • Commitment to inclusive education and respectful dialogue • Enthusiasm for developing as a reflective practitioner Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
