Job description
A large and inclusive secondary school in north Worcestershire is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and reflective Teacher of English to join its successful department from January 2026. English is a core strength of the school, with a well-established curriculum and strong outcomes at both GCSE and A-Level. The department is forward-thinking but grounded, combining high expectations with a clear focus on literacy, reading and purposeful writing. The Role This is a full-time position teaching English across KS3–KS5. At KS3, the curriculum focuses on building confident readers and writers through carefully chosen texts, while KS4 and KS5 programmes are structured to support analytical depth and exam success. You will: Teach English Literature and Language with confidence and clarity Work within shared schemes of learning that reduce workload Use assessment thoughtfully to support progress Contribute to enrichment such as reading groups, theatre visits or writing competitions The School This is a Good Ofsted-rated school with a strong sense of community. Behaviour is well managed, expectations are clear, and staff describe the culture as professional and supportive. Senior leaders are approachable and actively seek staff input on workload and policy.
