Job description
A leading Independent School in Islington requires a permanent, full-time Teacher of English, starting January 2026. Join an intellectually vibrant faculty committed to literary scholarship. About the School This established Independent School has a rich literary tradition and consistently achieves exceptional results in both English Literature and Language. The school promotes sophisticated literary analyse and essay writing. It fosters independent and deep thinking and supports staff with small class sizes. Responsibilities You will deliver engaging tuition across Key Stages 3, 4 (iGCSE), and 5 (A-Level). Your core focus is driving high attainment and fostering advanced literary criticism and independent reading habits. You must lead academic enrichment programmes such as debating, creative writing, or literary society events. Requirements You must hold a relevant Degree in English. You must have extensive experience teaching English Literature and Language to A-Level. You must have the right to work in the UK.
