Job description
A high-achieving secondary academy in Winchester is seeking a reliable and proactive Premises Assistant to join its facilities team ASAP . This is a full-time, permanent role within a well-organised and professional school environment. • Premises Assistant – full-time, permanent • High-performing 11–18 academy in Winchester • Year-round position • ASAP start • Competitive support staff salary The Role The Premises Assistant will support the daily operational management of the academy site, ensuring that buildings and grounds are maintained safely and efficiently. Working under the guidance of the Site Manager, you will help create a secure and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors. Key responsibilities include: • Opening and closing the site according to school procedures • Assisting with routine maintenance and minor repairs • Supporting health and safety compliance checks • Preparing rooms for lessons, exams, and events • Monitoring site security and responding to alarms • Helping with contractor supervision and deliveries Candidate Requirements • Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, or caretaking (desirable) • Basic DIY and repair skills • Good understanding of health and safety procedures • Reliable, organised, and proactive • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Commitment to safeguarding and site security About the Academy This Winchester academy is part of a respected multi-academy trust known for high academic standards, strong operational systems, and staff support.
