Job description
An established and well-regarded three-form entry primary school in Barnet is seeking a full-time Year 4 Teacher to join their team from April 2026 on a maternity cover basis . The post will run for the duration of the maternity leave, with an exact end date to be confirmed. This inclusive and welcoming school is dedicated to providing a high-quality education within a supportive and collaborative environment. The staff team is professional, caring, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential, both academically and personally. Location: Barnet, North London Start Date: April 2026 Contract: Full-Time, Maternity Cover (fixed-term) Salary: Competitive – MPS/UPS (dependent on experience) ECTs: Not suitable for ECTs The Role The school is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Year 4 Teacher to join a strong Key Stage 2 team. As part of a three-form entry structure, you will benefit from shared planning , established schemes of work , and the support of experienced colleagues . Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons for Year 4 pupils. Assessing and tracking pupil progress to ensure all learners achieve their potential. Working collaboratively with parallel Year 4 teachers and the wider KS2 team to plan and share best practice. Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment. Communicating effectively with parents and carers to support children’s learning and development. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – no ECTs for this post. Proven experience teaching Key Stage 2 , ideally Year 4. Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and assessment frameworks. Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team. A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil progress.
