Job description
A well-established 11–18 secondary school in Bradford is seeking a committed and forward-thinking Teacher of Business Studies to join its thriving Social Sciences faculty. The school has built a strong local reputation for academic improvement, structured leadership and clear behaviour systems, with Business Studies emerging as one of its most popular GCSE and Sixth Form options. This is an exciting opportunity to join a department that combines academic rigour with real-world relevance, preparing students not just for examinations but for further study, apprenticeships and employment pathways. The Role You will teach Business Studies across KS4 and KS5, delivering well-sequenced lessons that build knowledge of enterprise, finance, marketing and operations. Uptake at GCSE is strong, and the Sixth Form cohort continues to grow each year, reflecting the subject’s reputation within the school. The successful candidate will: • Deliver engaging GCSE and A-Level Business lessons • Support students with exam technique and coursework where applicable • Embed real-world case studies to deepen understanding • Contribute to curriculum planning and assessment design • Support enterprise enrichment opportunities and business-related trips There is scope for additional responsibility for the right candidate as the subject continues to expand. The Department The Business department sits within a collaborative Social Sciences faculty that includes Economics and Psychology. Schemes of work are well-resourced and structured, allowing teachers to focus on high-quality delivery while maintaining autonomy in lesson design. Students are encouraged to apply theoretical knowledge to real business contexts, and enrichment opportunities include enterprise competitions, guest speakers and links with local employers across West Yorkshire.
