The Data & Exams Team is highly regarded within the school due to the precision, organisation, and analytical oversight they provide. Working closely with senior leaders, pastoral staff, and curriculum heads, the team plays a critical role in shaping teaching and learning priorities and ensuring that every student receives appropriate challenge and support. The Role The school is seeking a highly capable, detail-oriented Data Manager who can take full responsibility for managing, maintaining, and developing the school’s data systems. This is a crucial strategic role requiring excellent technical ability, a deep understanding of educational data structures, and the confidence to support leaders with high-level analysis. You will oversee the school’s Management Information System (MIS), coordinate assessment cycles, produce performance reports, and ensure that statutory returns are completed accurately and on time. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent Excel/MIS skills, and the ability to interpret and present data clearly for non-specialists. You will also support the examinations process, working closely with the Exams Officer where required. As the school moves towards enhanced digitalisation, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to influence new systems, streamline data processes, and play a central role in ongoing school improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Managing and maintaining accurate student data across the school MIS • Producing detailed performance and progress reports for SLT, Heads of Department, and Governors • Coordinating termly and annual assessment cycles and ensuring data deadlines are met • Analysing student performance trends across year groups and subjects • Managing census returns and statutory data submissions • Supporting GDPR compliance and ensuring secure handling of sensitive information • Providing training and technical support to staff on MIS use and data protocols • Leading on systems development and implementing improvements to school data processes • Supporting the examinations cycle and collaborating with the Exams Officer when necessary • Maintaining timetabling, class lists, and student groupings in the MIS • Liaising with external agencies where required, including local authorities and awarding bodies • Ensuring data is high quality, complete, accurate, and compliant with school policy Person Specification • Strong experience working with MIS platforms (SIMS/Arbor/Bromcom/Ed:gen) • Outstanding analytical, numerical, and IT skills • High-level Excel competence • Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to work under pressure • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data clearly • Exceptional accuracy, organisation, and time management • Understanding of school operations, assessment cycles, and compliance regulations • Commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
