Job description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented and inspiring Music Teacher to join one of Birmingham’s most respected secondary schools from January 2026. This is a full-time, permanent role within a vibrant Performing Arts Faculty known for its rich musical culture and exceptional student engagement. • Music Teacher required – full-time, permanent • Successful 11–18 school in Birmingham • Teach Music across KS3–KS5 • January 2026 start • Opportunities to lead ensembles, choirs and school productions About the Role The school is seeking a committed Music Teacher who can deliver engaging curriculum lessons while also contributing to a dynamic extracurricular programme. You will support students in developing performance technique, composition skills, theoretical understanding and ensemble confidence. The department offers extensive musical opportunities, including orchestras, choirs, instrumental groups, chamber ensembles and annual concerts. Teachers work collaboratively to ensure a broad and ambitious curriculum. Experience and Qualifications • QTS/PGCE in Music • Strong performance or composition skills • Ability to direct ensembles is desirable • Commitment to inclusive and inspiring music education • Passion for contributing to whole-school events School Information The school is known for excellent behaviour, high expectations and a strong performing arts tradition.
