Job description
Business and Economics Teacher – Merton – Bridging Theory and Practice An Outstanding secondary school in the borough of Merton is seeking a versatile and skilled Business and Economics Teacher to join their successful department. This is a full-time, permanent position, teaching both subjects at Key Stages 4 and 5. The school prides itself on providing a curriculum that connects academic theory with real-world application. Key Responsibilities: As a Business and Economics Teacher , you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons in both subjects. You will prepare students for relevant qualifications (e.g., GCSE, A-Level, BTEC), developing their understanding of core concepts in business management, marketing, finance, and macro/microeconomics. A key focus will be fostering critical thinking and enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical business and economic scenarios. Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback will also be vital. Being a great Business and Economics Teacher is key. Candidate Profile: We are looking for a qualified Business and Economics Teacher (QTS) with a relevant degree and proven experience teaching both Business and Economics at Key Stages 4 and 5. Strong subject knowledge across both disciplines, coupled with the ability to integrate them effectively, is essential. Excellent communication and classroom management skills are required.
