Job description
School Status & Location Sector: Outstanding Ofsted-rated Secondary Academy. Borough: Islington (Inner London, England). Start Date: Permanent, part-time (0.5 FTE) role commencing January 2026. The Opportunity & School Profile This Outstanding academy's Drama department is a vibrant hub dedicated to performance and creativity. The school is looking for an energetic ECT to explore texts and develop performance skills at Key Stage 3 and 4. This part-time role offers excellent dedicated performance space and structured mentoring. Core Responsibilities & Teaching Scope Stage Director: Instructing Drama across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE) only, proportionate to the teaching fraction. Character Coach: Driving high engagement by fostering expressive performance skills and understanding of theatrical conventions. Production Assistant: Assisting with junior and senior productions and managing lighting/sound resources. Compensation & Benefits Essential Requirements: Hold or be soon to obtain QTS. Relevant Degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or Performance. Salary: Excellent pro-rata salary paid on the national Teachers' Pay Scale (M/UPS), reflecting Inner London weighting. Support: Structured ECT induction program and access to dedicated theatre facilities.
