Job description
We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated Caretaker to join a supportive and well-resourced SEN school in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The school caters for pupils with a range of special educational needs, providing a caring, structured, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. Facilities include sensory rooms, therapy spaces, and outdoor learning areas, all designed to enhance pupil development. Staff work closely together to maintain a calm, safe, and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that both learning and care are of the highest standard. Role Information The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, security, and general upkeep of the school premises. Key duties include opening and locking up the site, carrying out minor repairs, liaising with contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and supporting the safe operation of all school facilities. The role also involves assisting staff with site-related tasks and ensuring that all areas are accessible and secure for pupils with additional needs. Experience and Qualifications • Previous experience in caretaking, facilities, or maintenance desirable • Understanding of safeguarding and health and safety in a school or care setting • Strong practical skills and attention to detail • Empathetic, patient, and able to work well around children with special educational needs • Reliable, flexible, and able to manage time effectively Salary Paid according to experience and local support staff pay scale Application This Caretaker position offers a fantastic opportunity to join a caring and well-resourced SEN school in High Wycombe.
