Our primary school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join our forward-thinking, supportive team as soon as possible. Role Snapshot – What You’ll Be Doing Planning & Teaching Deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum, using creative and inclusive approaches tailored to Year 1 pupils. Assessment & Feedback Monitor and assess pupil progress, provide meaningful feedback, and adapt teaching to meet individual needs. Classroom Environment Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom where children feel confident to explore and take risks. Collaboration Work closely with colleagues across Key Stage 1 to share best practices, plan lessons, and support pupil progress. Parental Engagement Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates and celebrating pupils’ achievements. Behaviour & Wellbeing Promote positive behaviour, emotional resilience, and social development through structured routines and pastoral support. Professional Development Engage in CPD opportunities, staff meetings, and reflective practice to continuously enhance teaching and learning. You will be responsible for nurturing and developing your class while ensuring all pupils make excellent progress across the curriculum. This role offers the chance to make a lasting impact during a formative stage of children’s education. Who We’re Looking For We are looking for a Year 1 teacher who is professional, reflective, and passionate about inspiring young learners. The successful candidate will demonstrate: Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required; experience in KS1 teaching highly desirable, though Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply. Creativity & Engagement: Ability to plan and deliver lessons that capture pupils’ imagination and make learning meaningful. Differentiation Skills: Experience supporting pupils with diverse needs, including SEND, EAL, and higher-attaining learners. Collaboration & Teamwork: Strong ability to work with colleagues across the school, contributing ideas and resources to enhance teaching. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication with pupils, parents, and colleagues. Values-Driven Practice: Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the emotional wellbeing of all pupils. Reflective & Adaptive: Willingness to evaluate practice, respond to feedback, and implement new strategies to improve outcomes.
