Fulham, West London Position: EYFS Teaching Assistant Location: Fulham, West London Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Salary: £18,500–£21,500 per annum Start Date: Immediate About the School This vibrant primary school in Fulham is seeking a passionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to join its friendly and collaborative early years team. The EYFS setting emphasises play-based learning, creativity, and developing early literacy, numeracy, and social skills. Staff work closely together to plan and deliver engaging activities that meet the individual needs of all children, including those with SEN and EAL. The Role As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will: Support the learning and development of children in reception and nursery classes Assist in delivering structured and play-based learning activities Support children with additional needs to ensure an inclusive classroom Observe, record, and report children’s progress to the class teacher Encourage confidence, independence, and social skills in young learners Prepare classroom resources and assist in day-to-day routines You will also help facilitate outdoor learning, creative play, and school trips, contributing to a safe and stimulating learning environment. Key Responsibilities Supporting children in whole-class, small-group, and one-to-one settings Delivering play-based learning experiences under teacher guidance Supporting children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development Assisting with classroom management and maintaining routines Preparing learning materials and classroom resources Monitoring and documenting children’s development and progress Supporting children with SEN, EAL, or other additional needs Participating in team meetings, training sessions, and school initiatives Assisting with school events, extracurricular activities, and trips The Ideal Candidate The school is seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant who: Has experience working with children aged 3–5 in a nursery or reception setting Understands child development and early years pedagogy Is nurturing, patient, and empathetic Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills Can effectively support children with SEN or EAL Brings creativity and enthusiasm to play-based learning Is adaptable and flexible in a dynamic classroom environment Builds positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues Has a genuine passion for early years education Professional Development The school offers: Mentoring and guidance from experienced EYFS teachers CPD opportunities in early years curriculum, SEN, and behaviour management Training in observation, assessment, and intervention strategies Opportunities to lead specific learning areas or projects Collaboration with a skilled and supportive team What the School Offers Inclusive, nurturing, and collaborative school culture Focus on staff wellbeing and professional development Well-resourced classrooms and outdoor learning areas Long-term career progression opportunities The opportunity to make a lasting impact on young children’s learning and development Safeguarding Statement The school is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
