Job description
Finance Officer required January 2026 Good mixed school based in Manchester Finance Officer to join an experienced, well-structured and supportive finance department Our Client is seeking a Finance Officer to support day-to-day financial operations including invoice processing, budget monitoring, reconciliations, payroll administration and financial reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager and senior leaders to ensure accuracy and compliance across all school financial procedures. School Information This 11–18 school educates approximately 1,500 students and is well known for its strong organisational systems, modern facilities and clear administrative structures. The finance team works within a well-resourced office equipped with updated software, efficient filing systems and structured workflows that ensure accurate reporting and smooth termly and annual audits. The school’s strong financial governance contributes to its excellent stability and long-term planning. Staff describe the working environment as professional, well-run and collaborative. Leadership prioritises efficient communication, wellbeing and ongoing development for support staff. There are regular training sessions on financial systems, opportunities to shadow senior staff and clear pathways for progression.
